Tangerine

When trans sex worker Sin-Dee-Rella finishes a brief stint in prison, she hears that Chester, her boyfriend and pimp, has been cheating on her – with a white straight woman, no less!

Hell-bent on revenge over the course of one eventful, madcap night, her pursuit of Chester and his mistress takes her through West Hollywood’s gritty trans street subculture.

Shot using only smartphone cameras, this film made huge waves at Sundance Film Festival for its radical approach to film making. Director Sean S Baker’s casting of real life transgender sex workers also breaks new ground in diversity, portraying its subjects and the world of transgender street life through a raw lens.
